The precise inch measurement is not entirely accurate laces shrink significantly after being dyed and washed, but the suggested eyelet number accounts for that. The laces pictured are flat, 54' laces going through 7 pairs of eyelets on some slim size 8 (American) sneakers. Endless possibilities, I'm sure, but I just stick to shoes.
